Winners...

We'll have complete results from Event 1 later today.

Congrats to Ron Lane who beat Prissy Giroir heads up in the Opener.  Ron took home $11250 and played excellent through out the event.  One of us GCPers shared a table with him all day on Day 1. He found a bag and caused problems for everybody at the table.  Made some great reads and definitely deserved the title.

Prissy it should be noted accomplished a rare feat in that she somehow made a final table FOUR times in one tournament.  She was the only player to bag twice (winning an added Poker Gras Main Event seat in the process) and she also bubbled bagging the third flight when her pocket Aces got run down by Steve Bierman's pocket Queens on the river.

In Event 2, called the Game of the Century by somebody, Jason Regas won the title beating Derek Ridley heads up and finding good fortune with K9 more than once at the final table.  David Fry finished third with Charlie Gelvin the bubble boy.  I think on that particular day, Charlie is just fine with the way everything went, after leading the poker room in LSU cheers during a fairly important football game.

Diesel puts some more chips in the gas tank!!!!!

David “Diesel” Nicholson just hit a river straight to save his tournament life. Diesel makes it 25k to go from mid position...around to Donnie Phan in the small blind and Jay Bishop in the big. Both players smooth call and we see a flop. Flop is Jh10s3s. Donnie fan knuckles quickly...Jay Bishop immediately rips a huge stack that has Diesel covered. Diesel thinks for a sec and plops in a chip for the call. All hands are tabled and we are looking at Jay...AJo...and Diesel has JQo...both players have top pair and we go to the deck...turn is the 9 ball of clubs...River is the King of spades.

Diesel doubles and wins a massive pot putting him in contention to make a deep run here in Pearl River Main Event. Good luck Dave and Jay and rest of the players!!!!!!

Get em!!!

Rudulph, Bishop, Rebecca bust.

Payouts are now $3600.

Two quick ones.  Jay Bishop 12th and Rebecca 11th.  Great runs all!

Gavin Munroe Chip Leader

He is almost up to 800k.

Ray Curran Doubles

Through Rudy Rudulph when his pocket tens improve to a set.  All in pre flop v. AK.

JW Carter opens from the hijack.  David Nicholdon shoved from the small blind.  After some time JW called.  David had A9 and JW was ahead with AJ.

Jeter Brock 15th and Terry McGee 14th

Rebecca Campbell last woman standing

Laura Phillips-Parramore busts 16th.

Now Smiley has first place in her sights.  Guess you should bet LSU Saturday.

Two bustouts

18th.  Matthew Yates
17th Chris Canan.

Action on Chris's Nicholson shoved, Chris reahoved, Mike Monaghan shoved over both.  David had A2, Chris A8, and Mike QQ.

Board came AKJ. Turn X.  River 10.

Final 18

Matt "BackUp Terry" Yates and 17 others pictures below.

“Gettin Even” 2pm tourney final

The 2 pm event called the “Gettin Even” tourney with a winner take all was down to 3 handed. When Prissy was out, Russel Boyette has a commanding chip lead against Jerry Girior with Jerry barely having a couple of blinds...anyone who has been in that situation where you just need one more hand to win...next thing you know ...45 minutes later your opponent is taking a winners circle photo ...knows how Russell feels. Jerry Girior comes from way behind to win 1st place again... and got the $1680 1st place prize.

Way to go Jerry!!!!!

Clifford Matthews Bubbles

Clifford opens with Ace Queen is called by Brandon Robinson.  Flop came AAJ two hearts.  Clifford shoved and Robinson tanked then called with pocket nines.

Gavin quiped, "You've done it before."

Running hearts enabled him to do it again.  With 18 left every player has won at least 3k.

Giroir Epic Comeback

Down a ~million to one to Russell Boyette, Jerry hit at least three one outers on his way to victory.  Congrats to Jerry for yet another win at Pearl River.  This time pocketing all the prize pool as it was winner take all.

Hand for hand

Smiley gets one through.

Jeter and Canan double

Tournament chipleader Munroe doubles both players.  And now we are in the bubble.

Donnie Phan Doubles

Action has picked up with a number of all-ins.  Donnie is the latest to survive with a double through Mike Monaghan.  Still 21 players.  Stacks getting more shallow as bubble looms.

Peace out

Peace shoved a short stack with Ace 10 and Gavin Munroe called with King 10.  Flop brought a queen four six.  Turn nine...

"Dont do it!"

River Jack.

Canan bluffs river

Chris Canan shoved the river and was one chip called by Brandon Robinson who had 152k behind.  Canan's bluff exposed he said sheepishly, "I got it in real bad."  Robinson turn over top set of aces. Canan is left with 24k.  Update he doubled through Gavin Munroe and now has 40k.

Gaubert doubles through Bishop

We got to the action on the river.  Jeremy "Chemist" Gaubert shoved for 92k after they built a pot and Bishop snap called.  Jeremy turned over queens having rivered a set.  The table groaned for Jay when he showed pocket Aces.

Corda Busts

Jacob Corda opened on David Nicholsons big blind as a short stack.  David also short, shoved and Corda snap called with a one chop.  The hands were tabled:
Corda 9h10h
Dnich 9c10c

After two clubs hit the flop they both paired their 9, and the river clubbed Corda to the exit.

Gavin Munroe continues to build a healthy stack.

Button makes it 13k to go once all other players have folded. Jeter Brock calls from the SM and Gavin also calls from big blind.

Flop comes out 2dJs5h.

Check-o—Slovakia around and we go to the turn
4h.

Gavin makes it 16k and the Button calls while Jeter kicks them in the muck

River is the 5c pairing the board. Gavin makes it about 73k to go and slowly glances at the button.
Button semi-tanks before flicking his cards to the dealer. Gavin rakes a pot

2pm winner take all $200 entry “Getting Even” tourney

In other poker action in Pearl River we have the 2pm “getting even” Event for $200 entry with a winner takes all scenario. We only had 16 runners show up. We are down to 3 handed and we now have a deal that has been struck. Prissy and Jerry Girior have reached a deal with Russel Boyette for all 3 to take $400 and play for the rest

And they tangle again...

The same 2 players again locked up with Canan raising to $12.5k. Rudy calls from the big blind and we go to the flop. Flop lands QcJs10h rainbow. Rudy immediately rips his remaining 132k...after a countdown and and short tank stint Canan kicks them into the muck and Rudy rakes in a pot.

Chip leader Canan let’s one go

One of the chip leaders Chris “Loose cannon” Canan just opened for 10.5 at 500/2500-5000. Get called by Rudy Rudulph in mid position. Flop peels out Ac8c4d and Canan Cbets 6500 sand gets the smooth call from Rudy. 7d shows up on the turn and Canan knuckles while Rudy slides out a stack and Canan snap folds as soon as Rudy’s chips crossed the line

Table Drowning in Chips

Chris Canan, Jay Bishop, JW Carter, Jeremy Gaubert and Ray Curran have most of the brown 5k chips in the tournament and now they all sit together.  Here Canan gets a 3bet through.

Jeter Doubles...

Jeter Brock doubles with pocket Jacks against the sixes of Rudy Rudulph.

We are down to 27 and tables have been redrawn.  Nine to go until the money.

Down to two Ladies

Who will be last woman standing?

Rebecca Campbell the LSU fan...

Or Laura Phillips-Parramore who survived this all-in and is a Bama fan.

Pretty sure whoever prevails means their team will win next Saturday.
